Find your rhythm

Three things help us grow as people. Includes have structure, routine, and discipline. Everyone is driven by some type of goal on a daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly basis. If that be to book a holiday to Boogey or pay your annual TV license. It sort of needs to be done. Without these three principles, there is no movement towards our goals. Humans are at their very best when we can solve problems, not dwell upon excessive thinking (worry & stress). So, we have something called flow in today to day life which makes life slightly easier.

Let’s take these principles further…

  • For example, if I have a project planned for my work (career), I know what tasks to achieve, I will set deadlines and be accountable for them. This would lead to high productivity levels because I have completed something by the end of the day. Or, in other words, I earned my bacon which means that I did a good day’s job. Otherwise, without the three principles, you would end up unfocused and procrastinate
  • For Health, it’s very similar; we can change our diets by planning our meals, creating exercise routines, managing stress, rest, and sleeping better. This will result in you feeling and looking good by taking care of yourself and not neglecting yourself.
  • Structure, routine, and discipline work with errands as well, by paying bills, doing the laundry, grocery shopping, cleaning, ironing.  It all means that at the end of the day, you’re on top of things. Alternatively, things will pile up, and if we haven’t addressed them, the minor problems will increase in size.

These three principles help with motivation because they affect every area of your life: creating structure frames everything that is of value and meaning to you; routine helps you complete daily, weekly and monthly actions so that you are consistent enough to see results; and discipline gives you stability and makes you responsible so that eventually your essential tasks become second nature and necessary for your peace of mind and wellbeing.
